Garden. Pat and Roy Beckemeyer visited London and southeastern England for
a tour of English gardens in May, 2004. Here are some damselflies that
were seen and photographed on our day at Wisley.

Left: A female calopterygid damselfly, Calopteryx splendens.
Both males and females were seen, many on the water of a small stream, others
perched on evergreen trees in the Pinetum.
Right:
A male coenagrionid damselfly, Coenagrion puella. There are
several species of Coenagrion in England and Europe.

Left: A female of another Coenagrion species, Coenagrion
pulchellum.
Right:
A poorly focused photo of another coenagrionid, Ischnura elegans.

Left: A male coenagrionid, Pyrrhosomma nymphula.
Right: A tandem pair of the same species.
