Aeshna diffinis -
Huacarpay Lakes in vicinity of Cusco. Shallow lakes with reeds,
grasses, surrounded by muddy, grassy flats. 13°36.71'S, 71°44.21'W,
approx. 3000 m (baro). Saw pairs in copula. Caught only
males. 6 males, 5 Nov. (Note: this may prove to be Aeshna
absoluta according to a newly published work by N. Von Ellenrieder on
this group of blue darners that was published in the latest Odonatologica.)

overlooking Cusco. Seen and photographed (photo at right) but not captured, 4 Nov.

above road. 13°10.7'S, 71°36.57'W, approx. 2600 m (baro).

1 male, 8 Nov., at water trickling down mossy cliff face above
road. 13°2.58'S, 71°35.70'W, approx. 1500 m (baro), also saw
female flying along cliff face and flipping tail into the moss to
oviposit.

Manu (Atalaya) road. Small rocky creek. 13°2.91'S, 71°35.87'W,
approx 1250 m (baro). Males patrolled stream, hovering over water,
repeatedly working same section. Seemed to prefer shadier times and
would go up heavily-vegetated portions in deep shade. 2 males, 9 Nov.
