Right - The way a morpho butterfly looks when perched.  Although I tried many times to get a good photo of one flying, all my attempts pretty much failed.  When this insect opens its wings, the most glorious fluorescent blue color flashes that you almost can't believe it. Then when they perch they nearly disappear.  This photo taken at the Cock of the Rock Lodge in the cloud forest at about 1600 meters.

Aguas Caliente butterfly.

Left - Photo taken 2 November at the Pueblo Hotel at Aguas Calientes.  Is it a Pieridae (Genus Dismorphia), or a Heliconidae, or an Ithomiidae?  I believe the latter family, but could be wrong.  Another view below right.

Hotel Pueblo butterfly, Aguas Caliente.Left -  A Pieridae.  Sulphurs and whites were plentiful, but do not appear in the photos very often because they were seldom seen perched or puddling.   Right - (A Heliconidae: Dione juno)?? Both photos taken at Pueblo Hotel, 2 November.
