Entomologists or revolutionaries? From left: Nick Donnelly (New York), George Harp (Arkansas), Maria Lourdes Chamorro (Nicaragua), John Abbott (Texas), Enrique Gonzalez (Mexico), Roy Beckemeyer (Kansas). In front of the hotel at Wiwili in Jinotega Department, northern Nicaragua.
Right: Photo by John Abbott. The stream libellulid Brechmorhoga pertinax. Somewhat "nervous" fliers that patrol restlessly along streams, species of this genus can be problematic to capture at times. Other species caught in Nicaragua included B. rapax and B. vivax.
Left - a male pseudostigmatid, Megaloprepus coerulatus. Photo by John Abbott. This specimen was captured in the forest at Selva Negra.
Above left: our transportation while collecting in the vicinity of Wiwili. The vehicle did not have a functioning starter, so the driver would park on hills so he could coast downhill to start it up. Good thing that streams are generally in valleys! Above right: fueling up in Wiwili for a day of collecting.
