Revised 22/7/07: Added taxa described by Béthoux & Beckemeyer 2007. Revised 4/8/00: Added Meganeuridae: Megatypus parvulus Engel 1998, a taxon missed from the original compilaiton. This species brings the Protodonata species count to 8 and the total species count to 150. Revised 2/12/00: Corrected typographic errors: Misthodotes ovatus Tillyard 1932 becomes Misthodotes ovalis Tillyard 1932 (Ephemeroptera); date of description of Probnis speciosa Tillyard changed from 1939 to 1937 (Protorthoptera); date of description of Palaeomantis minutum (Sellards) changed from 1904 to 1909 (Miomoptera); Palaeomantis elongates becomes Palaeomantis elongatum and Palaeomantis latus becomes Palaeomantis latum (Miomoptera).
Added link to page of images of Protodonata: Tupus permianus Sellards 1906. Removed Tupus vetustus and made it a synonym of T. permianus per Carpenter, which I had misinterpreted originally. Reduces number of species to 149.
Added Oligotypus sp. Carpenter 1931 which brough species number back to 150. Corrected spelling of M. parvus Engel (Protodonata) from M. parvulus. [3 March 2002].
Added link to
page of images of Oligotypus tillyardi Carpenter 1931 - a specimen was
collected from the Midco, Oklahoma beds in August 2003 by Michael Montgoemry and
Joseph Hall.
