Right - A libellulid (skimmer) of the boreal regions - the Hudsonian Whiteface, Leucorrhinia hudsonica.  Note the beautiful red-spotted abdomen.

Left - part of the "Bolivian Odonata Group".  From the west coast, Steve Valley of Oregon, from the east, Ken Tennessen of Alabama.  In addition to all-round odonatists, Steve is an extraordinary photographer, and Ken is a top-notch identifier of Odonata larvae and exuviae.

Right - Lestes inaequalis (Elegant Spreadwing), a lovely metallic green spreadwing damselfly.

Left - Steve Krotzer of Alabama, another indefatigable odonate photographer.

Right - Nathalia von Ellenrieder (Argentina), Dennis Paulson (Washington), and Nick Donnelly (New York) having a serious discussion.

Left, the Least Clubtail - Stylogomphus albistylus - one of the small gomphids (clubtails).

Right - Mary Jane and Steve Krotzer of Alabama - ready for a day of dragonflying.

Left - Ophiogomphus mainensis (Maine Snaketail) from Shaver's Fork near Cheat Bridge, Monongahela National Forest.

Right - The very pretty Aeshna mutata (Spatterdock Darner).  This species was quite easy to find, but not necessarily easy to catch, at Valley Bend Wetland.  This specimen courtesy of Nick Donnelly.  Thanks, Nick!
