Left:
An Eastern Red-footed (Amur) Falcon female. These falcons roost in large
flocks and literally cover the electric wires along the roads in the high
veldt. This photo taken near Wakkerstroom in Mpumalanga Province.
Right: A Black-shouldered Kite. A beautiful little bird.
Left:
An African Stonechat on a fencepost. In the grassveldt of South Africa, we
felt very much at home, as it reminded us of the prairies of North America in
overall impression - but of course with completely different species of flora
and fauna.
Right:
A delightful little bird, the Southern Red Bishop. Likes wet areas in
grassland or savanna.

Left:
A female Black-bellied Bustard. This picture was taken near dusk which
accounts for the soft focus and blue tint. We also saw Denham's Bustard (a
male displaying to a female which we saw at a considerable distance) and Blue
Korhaan.
Right: A White-throated Swallow. A common breeding summer visitor
across South Africa.
