Above:  Stereopterum cf rotundum Carpenter, 1950.  Specimen B3-03-20-04-12, collected 20 March, 2004 by Roy J. Beckemeyer at Billings 3 Locality, Noble County, Oklahoma, Lower Permian Wellington Formation.  First record of this taxon from the Oklahoma beds (described from the Elmo deposits).

Maximum width approx. 5 mm.  SC intersects costal margin distal to midwing.  Space between RA and SC very broad.  Portion of wing membrane posterior to RA and distal to CuA heavily coriaceous, with a pebbled texture.  Main longitudinal veins RP, MA and MP become weak distally, are heavier near their origins.  Space between RP and MA constricted where they are connected by a cross vein.   Anterior branch of CuA forks four times.

Additional rock matrix to be removed from base and anal area of wing.
